Sant'Agata Bolognese, 23 July 2025 - Automobili Lamborghini has organized a special event for international guests to mark the tenth anniversary of its Polo Storico classics department: A Day as a Restoration Specialist.

Since its foundation in 2015, the Lamborghini Polo Storico has been dedicated to the restoration, certification and archiving of historic vehicles from Sant'Agata Bolognese. The aim is not only to maintain the classic cars, but also to preserve the history and identity of the brand.

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Lamborghini invited selected guests to an interactive experience. They were allowed to slip into the role of real Polo Storico technicians - including test drives through Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany, archive work, workshop work and technical analysis. They were supported by the legendary Comitato dei Saggi, a council of experts made up of former Lamborghini.

Focus on classics - on the road and under the magnifying glass

Each pair of participants was assigned a historic Lamborghini : a 400 GT 2+2 from 1967, a Countach 25 Anniversario from 1990, a Diablo SE 6.0 from 2001 or an LM 002 from the early 1990s. After comprehensive driving analyses, the guests documented the condition of their classic car using test logs - just like in the real working day at Polo Storico.

This was followed by an in-depth look at the historical archive. Here, original documents were used to check whether technical data such as chassis numbers or equipment matched the real vehicle - an important step in the certification process.

Craftsmanship with tradition

In the workshop, the participants were able to work on a 1973 Lamborghini Miura SV. Whether changing a front wheel with a central locking nut, using a cast-iron hammer or precise work with a torque wrench - everything was done according to the historical model. Particularly challenging: disassembling and reassembling a Weber twin carburetor as it was installed in the Countach.

Strong together: Lamborghini & Pirelli

Another focal point was the long-standing collaboration with Pirelli, which began back in 1963 with the Lamborghini 350 GTV. The guests were given exciting insights into the reconstruction of historic tire technologies - including the Cinturato CN12 for the Countach LP 500 prototype, which was relaunched in 2021, and the Scorpion BK for the LM002, which was brought back in 2023.

With the Pirelli Collezione product line, the manufacturer combines authentic looks with modern safety standards - an important element for the authentic preservation of classic Lamborghini.

An event with depth

Alessandro Farmeschi, Aftersales Director of Automobili Lamborghini, sums up:
"The guests were given a unique insight into how much knowledge, craftsmanship and passion goes into every single classic car. The Polo Storico not only preserves vehicles, but also a living cultural heritage."
