On May 24 and 25, 2025, Mercedes-Benz Classic presented three legendary vehicles at the FuoriConcorso in the gardens of Villa del Grumello on Lake Como: the Mercedes-Benz C 11 Group C racing car from 1990, the CLK GTR racing sports car from 1997 and its exclusive road-going version. The vehicles were spectacularly placed in the garden using a mobile crane and attracted a lot of attention.

Legendary vehicles with Italian history

The Mercedes-Benz C 11 celebrated its debut in 1990 with a one-two victory in the 480-kilometer race in Monza. The CLK GTR took second place in the 1997 FIA GT race in Mugello. Both cars won the championship title in their respective seasons.

A small series of 20 road-legal coupés of the CLK GTR was produced in 1998. The example on display at the FuoriConcorso comes from the national car museum The Loh Collection.

Talks about motorsport history

In addition to the vehicle presentation, the Villa Sucota on May 25, 2025 hosted discussion panels with high-profile participants. Marcus Breitschwerdt, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH, took part in the "Rally and F1" and "Italian Racing" panels and discussed the importance of motorsport for the Mercedes-Benz brand.
