Red Bull RB17: The 7 million Hypercar with Formula 1 DNA and Adrian Newey's signature

The world of hypercars is about to welcome a spectacular newcomer - and it's not from Ferrari, Koenigsegg or Bugatti, but from a name that until now has mainly been associated with Formula 1: Red Bull. With the RB17, Red Bull Advanced Technologies (RBAT) is announcing a Hypercar for 2025 that will amaze even connoisseurs with its technical radicalism: over 1,100 hp, less than 900 kilograms, no road approval - and a price tag of around seven million euros.

Red Bull becomes a Hypercar

Red Bull now wants to prove that it can do more than sell cans and win Formula 1 world championships in the hyper sports segment. The RB17 project is the first real vehicle from RBAT - a department of the Red Bull Racing Group that has so far mainly worked on technical simulation and aerodynamic solutions for the racetrack.

In contrast to earlier Red Bull concept cars such as the X2010 from "Gran Turismo", the RB17 is not a virtual mind game, but a real, drivable car - designed for track performance, but with series production on an ultra-small scale.

The technology: light, brutal, uncompromising

What is known so far sounds like pure motorsport: the RB17 is to be equipped with a V8 biturbo hybrid drive that delivers over 1,100 hp to the rear axle. In combination with an extremely lightweight carbon monocoque and an unladen weight of less than 900 kilograms, this results in a power-to-weight ratio that puts even a Bugatti Chiron in the shade.

Key technical data (preliminary):

  • Engine: V8 biturbo hybrid

  • Power: > 1,100 hp

  • Weight: approx. 900 kg

  • Vehicle class: Track-only Hypercar

  • Price: approx. 7 million euros

  • Production: Limited to 50 copies

  • Delivery: planned from 2025

The legend behind it: Adrian Newey

One name in particular stands out in connection with the RB17: Adrian Newey - arguably the most famous motorsport engineer of modern times. Newey, chief designer at Red Bull Racing, has won more Formula 1 world championships than any other engineer. He was also instrumental in the development of the Aston Martin Valkyrie and is now bringing all of his experience to the RB17 project.

His goal? To build the ultimate track day car. No compromises, no road traffic regulations, just pure engineering.

Not a road vehicle - and that is precisely the point

The RB17 is not road-legal. And that is not a weakness, but a concept. With the RB17, Red Bull is targeting a hand-picked group of customers: racing drivers, collectors, the super-rich with their own circuits. Anyone who buys an RB17 not only receives the vehicle, but also technical support from RBAT, including telemetry, adjustments and professional support at track days.

It's not about suitability for everyday use - it's about making Formula 1 technology an experience for wealthy enthusiasts.

Price & limitation: It doesn't get much more exclusive than this

With a unit price of around 7 million euros, the RB17 is well above the level of classic hypercars. But Red Bull justifies the price:

  • Extremely low production number (50 units worldwide)

  • Engineering at Formula 1 level

  • Exclusive access to data & support

  • Collector's value with factory warranty

The RB17 is therefore not just another road racer - but a vehicle in a league of its own in terms of price, design and exclusivity.

Conclusion: The RB17 is Red Bull's ticket to the eternal Hypercar

With the RB17, Red Bull presents itself as a serious player in the Hypercar hypercar segment. The car is not just a toy for millionaires, but Adrian Newey's vision of what ultimate driving performance can look like - without regulations, without compromises, without road traffic regulations.

Whether the RB17 sets the benchmark will become clear in 2025. But one thing is already clear: no previous Hypercar has been as "Formula 1 for private customers" as this one.
