McLaren Completes 3,867-Mile “States of Endurance” Road Trip Across America
Woking, UK (September 26, 2025) – McLaren has marked the 30th anniversary of its iconic 1995 Le Mans victory with a unique celebration: the “States of Endurance” road trip, a coast-to-coast journey spanning 3,867 miles across eight U.S. states. The trip showcased McLaren’s endurance racing heritage and the DNA that defines its latest supercars, ahead of the brand’s upcoming return to top-class endurance racing in 2027.
A Journey Across Eight States
Driving three McLaren supercars – the 750S Coupe, 750S Spider, and Artura Spider – McLaren professional and Trophy racing drivers Paul Rees, Jack Barlow, and Oliver Webb embarked on the journey from Monterey, California, concluding in Miami, Florida.
The cars, finished in special liveries symbolizing the dawn, day, and night phases of a 24-hour race, made fan-focused “Pit Stops” at McLaren retailers nationwide, including Newport Beach, Scottsdale, Dallas, Atlanta, Orlando, and Miami.
Showcasing McLaren’s Endurance Spirit
The trip highlighted McLaren’s racing DNA and its connection to endurance motorsport. Along the route, enthusiasts were able to experience:
The 750S Le Mans edition, commemorating three decades since the F1 GTR’s Le Mans triumph.
The Project: Endurance car, previewing McLaren’s upcoming customer program for its 2027 WEC Hypercar entry.
The 3,867-mile journey deliberately eclipsed the distance typically covered by cars in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, reinforcing McLaren’s focus on endurance both on the track and on the road.
Stories of Endurance
The “States of Endurance” journey was also about people and their stories. Along the route, the McLaren team connected with individuals embodying endurance in different forms – from astronauts and ranchers to world-record athletes. Among them was Justin Bell, who raced the McLaren F1 GTR at Le Mans in 1995, offering firsthand reflections on the resilience needed for endurance success.
Lifestyle Partnership with TUMI
Supporting the trip was TUMI, McLaren’s official travel partner. Drivers used pieces from the TUMI | McLaren Spring 2025 collection, including the Velocity Backpack in Super Grey, combining luxury design with automotive inspiration.
