Aston Martin Valkyrie to Debut in Japan as Brand Marks 100th FIA WEC Start at Fuji
Fuji Speedway, Japan (September 23, 2025) – Aston Martin will celebrate a historic milestone this weekend as it competes in its 100th FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) race at the 6 Hours of Fuji. The event will also mark the Far East competition debut of the spectacular Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar, the only road-derived hypercar competing in both WEC and IMSA.
100 Races of WEC Heritage
Since WEC’s inception in 2012, Aston Martin has entered every single one of its 99 races to date. During that time, the marque has achieved:
11 world championship titles
53 class victories (the third highest of any manufacturer)
Five class wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans
From its first podium at Sebring in 2012 to multiple championship triumphs, Aston Martin has been a pillar of endurance racing, combining sporting pedigree with ultra-luxury performance.
Adam Carter, Head of Endurance Motorsport, stated:
“100 consecutive WEC races in 13 years is a clear demonstration of Aston Martin’s commitment to endurance racing. With Valkyrie, we are taking the next step in this journey and aiming for outright victories in the future.”
Valkyrie Growing in Competitiveness
Developed from the road-going Valkyrie, the competition version is raced by the Aston Martin THOR Team. Key features include:
Carbon fibre chassis and 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12
Revving to 11,000 rpm with over 1,000 bhp in standard form
Restricted to 680 bhp to meet hypercar regulations
The Valkyrie showed impressive pace at Lone Star Le Mans in Austin, running as high as fourth place in wet conditions. Both Valkyries also completed their first 24 Hours of Le Mans, finishing 12th and 14th – earning Aston Martin its first manufacturer points in the Hypercar class.
For Fuji, the #007 car will be driven by Tom Gamble and Harry Tincknell, while the #009 will be piloted by Alex Riberas and Marco Sørensen.

11 world titles
Five Le Mans class victories
68 pole positions
At Fuji alone, Vantage has claimed seven class wins and 16 podiums. For the 100th race, The Heart of Racing and Racing Spirit of Léman teams will represent the brand with their Vantage GT3 entries.
Conclusion
The 6 Hours of Fuji 2025 will be a landmark moment for Aston Martin, combining its 100th WEC start with the Japanese debut of the Valkyrie Hypercar.
