SSC North America has done it again: with the launch of the Tuatara Striker and Tuatara Aggressor variants, the US manufacturer is announcing not just two new models - but a new assault on the limits of what is possible in the Hypercar. The two vehicles mark the next stage in the development of the legendary Tuatara, which is already in the record books with a top speed of over 455 km/h.

With radical aerodynamics, over 2,200 hp and a focus on track performance like never before, SSC is positioning these new models as hypercars for extremists - and as a technical demonstration of power for the year 2025.

The origin: SSC Tuatara as the basis for the Extreme

The original SSC Tuatara, named after a New Zealand reptile, was already a technical manifesto: lightweight construction, aerodynamics with extremely low drag (drag coefficient 0.279) and a 5.9-liter V8 biturbo with up to 1,774 hp (with E85) made it a record-breaker.

But SSC is not satisfied with just that. The Striker and Aggressor versions go even further - technically, visually and in terms of driving dynamics.

Tuatara Striker: Road meets motorsport

According to SSC, the Tuatara Striker is intended for customers who want to experience maximum performance on the road. It is based on the regular Tuatara, but is equipped with the following features:

  • New active aerodynamics: huge rear wing, active diffuser, air deflectors - for 300% more downforce than the base model.

  • Extremely lightweight carbon chassis

  • Road approval in selected markets

  • Target group: Customers with racing ambitions and road access

The total output of the Striker is still over 1,774 hp - optionally also over 2,200 hp when fueled with E85.

Tuatara Aggressor: On the racetrack without compromise

If you opt for the Tuatara Aggressor, you get a Hypercar without any road approval - but with complete freedom in terms of setup, design and engine performance. This model is aimed at collectors, trackday enthusiasts and racing teams who want a truly unique piece.

Highlights of the Aggressor:

  • Over 2,200 hp from V8 biturbo

  • Track-only software, freely programmable

  • Customized cockpit configuration

  • Individual tuning of suspension, transmission & aerodynamics

  • According to SSC: "the most uncompromising variant we have ever built"

This version is made exclusively to order - each one is unique.

Performance promise: 2025 will be an exceptional year

SSC has announced that the first vehicles of both variants will be delivered from 2025. Production will take place at the company's own high-tech factory in Richland, Washington. The exclusive small series will only be awarded to hand-picked customers who are already established in the SSC family - or who stand out due to their extreme track ambitions.

Whether the Tuatara Striker will also appear on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife or Le Mans Test Days in the future is still unclear - but it is certainly conceivable.

Design: Powerful, functional, martial

Both models rely on an uncompromising, aerodynamically optimized design language. The massive rear wing is particularly striking and looks like a statement against the restraint of other hypercars. The carbon bodywork is designed entirely for high downforce - not sleek elegance, but sharp functionality.

Every line on the Tuatara Striker and Aggressor has a purpose - either for cooling, airflow or stability beyond 400 km/h.

Competition? Hardly any

With these performance figures, SSC plays in a league in which only Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, Bugatti Bolide and possibly Rimac Nevera (in modified form) can keep up. But even in this elite circle, the Tuatara Aggressor with its track-only approach is a special case.

The combination of weight, performance, aerodynamics and exclusivity is unique in the world in this form.

Conclusion: SSC North America wants to return to the throne

With the Tuatara Striker and Aggressor, SSC is sending a clear message: the era of hyper-extreme, customized performance vehicles is far from over - it is only just beginning.

From 2025, we will see hypercars that are no longer just record-breaking, but consistently trimmed for performance, visually radical and only accessible to the very few. Just the way fans of real super sports cars love it.
