Zenvo unveils "Mjølner" - the world's most powerful V12 series engine

Præstø, Denmark, August 11, 2025 - As the ambitious Zenvo Aurora program moves inexorably towards the start of production in 2026, the development of the revolutionary "Mjølner" powertrain is reaching new heights. With the support of the renowned MAHLE Powertrain, the most powerful V12 engine ever built in series production was created - a technical masterpiece that not only offers breathtaking performance, but also meets the globally applicable emission standards.

An engine without compromise

The Mjølner V12 is the heart of the Aurora and delivers an impressive 1,250 hp. Combined with a state-of-the-art hybrid system, the engine revs up to 9,800 rpm and delivers a performance that is not only impressive on paper. In practice, it combines brutal acceleration with impressive drivability - a balancing act that was only possible thanks to consistent in-house development.

Zenvo CCO Jens Sverdrup explains:

"A standard engine would have been easier, but never an option. The Aurora stands for zero compromise - and that starts with the engine. We wanted exactly what we have now: a power unit that pushes the boundaries of what is technically feasible."

The collaboration with MAHLE Powertrain brought decades of motorsport and series production experience to the project. The aim was to combine state-of-the-art technologies with proven design principles. This involved breaking new ground in order to harmonize performance, efficiency and emission values at the highest level.

The result: a drivetrain that has not only been optimized for extreme performance, but also complies with global emissions regulations throughout its entire service life.

Aurora - the stage for Mjølner

The Aurora, which will be available in Agil and Tur versions, is Zenvo's flagship model. It combines the unique chassis design with an aerodynamically optimized body made of carbon and aluminium. The Mjølner drive is at the heart of this - developed to deliver maximum emotion both on the road and on the race track.

World premiere in Monterey

The Aurora with Mjølner drive will be presented in California just in time for Monterey Car Week 2025. Visitors can not only marvel at the design, but also gain insights into the complex development work. The new episode of the official Zenvo documentary series takes a detailed look at the engine's development process - from the first sketch to the test run on the test bench.
