MONTEREY, California (August 15, 2025) - At the prestigious event The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, Chevrolet unveiled two new concept cars that will shape the future design direction of the Corvette: the Corvette CX and the Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo. Although neither model is intended for series production, they serve as visionary studies for the further development of the iconic American sports car.

Corvette CX: Electric super sports car with over 2,000 hp

The Corvette CX stands for the uncompromising fusion of tradition and future. With striking Corvette design features - including the elongated, flat body, the striking "chine" line and the characteristic twin tail lights - the concept car looks familiar and futuristic at the same time.

Under the body, a fully electric all-wheel drive system with four individual motors provides more than 2,000 hp. A 90 kWh battery in the chassis ensures a low center of gravity and optimum weight distribution.

Particularly innovative: a vacuum fan system that draws air through open channels in the bodywork, generates massive downforce and adjusts the aerodynamics in real time. This is complemented by active front and rear diffusers and wings that dynamically adjust to the driving conditions.

Inside, the driver and front passenger can look forward to a cockpit with a jet canopy that opens automatically and sports seats in Inferno Red textile. High-quality materials such as carbon, aluminum and silicone leather underline the premium claim. The digital cockpit transforms the windshield into a display with real-time performance data.

Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo: racing DNA for the virtual and real track

Parallel to the CX, Chevrolet presented the Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo - an uncompromising racing version for the virtual world of Gran Turismo 7.

The yellow and black paintwork is reminiscent of the successes of Corvette racing cars over the last 25 years. With even more aggressive aerodynamics, reduced weight and lowered suspension, the CX.R consistently focuses on performance.

The interior is dominated by carbon fiber surfaces, functional racing seats with reinforced head and shoulder restraints and materials such as suede for maximum support.

In technical terms, the CX.R combines a high-revving 2.0-liter V8 biturbo engine (up to 15,000 rpm, 900 hp) with three electric motors. Together, this also results in a system output of around 2,000 hp, fed by renewable e-fuel and supported by an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Chevrolet is going one step further: both concept cars will be available in Gran Turismo 7 thanks to the cooperation with Polyphony Digital. Players will be able to experience for themselves how Corvette's visions feel on the road and on the racetrack - a foretaste of what the future of Corvette design language has in store.

Conclusion

With the unveiling of the Corvette CX and CX.R Vision Gran Turismo, Chevrolet shows that the Corvette legend is far from over. Instead, the studies combine 70 years of tradition with state-of-the-art electric and racing technology. Whether on the asphalt or in the virtual world - the Corvette of tomorrow will be more extreme, more powerful and bolder than ever before.
